Step #4 I wish this was ....
This is one of the most famous ice rinks in Toronto
for public. This is right at city downtown where so many attractions take place
each season. The square is the site of concerts, art displays, the winter
festival of lights, and other public events, including demonstrations. During
the winter months, the reflecting pool is converted into an ice rink for ice-skating.
The square attracts an estimated 1.5 million visitors yearly.
My business idea is to open up a nice cafe here
because there isn't any. It is a good idea because in winters not everybody
skates; so there should be something for other people as well. People would
enjoy having a cup of coffee watching people skating with a nice view of city.
Step #2 Mind Map
Step # 1. Entrepreneur Profile
My Top 5 Sustainable Development Goals:
* End Hunger
* Increase Health Conditions of People around the world
* Reduce Poverty
* Enhance Biodiverse ecosystems
* Stop Climate Change
I believe that most important issue to be addressed in the world is hunger. The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished. Poor nutrition causes nearly half (45%) of deaths in children under five - 3.1 million children each year. Poverty is my second most important issue as the poorest people will have less access to health, education and other services. Problems of hunger, malnutrition and disease trouble the poorest in society.
After researching for an entrepreneur who has addressed the world's hunger issue , I found Andrew Youn. He has been supporting East African farmers as he strongly believes that farmers can put an end to hunger. His organization,Vision Once Acre Fund, provides everything that a farmer can need such as loans, supplies, training ext. According to the statistics if women farmers had the same access to resources as men, the number of hungry in the world could be reduced by up to 150 million. I hope in the future I can be as helpful as Andrew Youn and help people in need.
One of the presentations done by my class mates was on the organization called Slow Food. I admire what they do and advocates. This organization was started by a group of activist with the initial aim to defend regional traditions, good food and then evolved to embrace a comprehensive approach to food that recognizes the strong connections between plate. planet, people, politics and culture.
